Ms. Kelsey first added oil to the bottle with some food colouring.

Then she added the water.

 During our science block today we learned that oil and water do not mix!  To make it a little bit more exciting Ms. Kelsey added some sparkles and some food colouring!

We made sure that the cap was on super tight!

Everyone got a chance to shake it to see the oil and water separate!

Emilia found that she could make waves in the bottles if she tilted it!

Messy Fun Day!

Savannah played with our very own Oobleck!

The only way to get the Oobleck off your hands is to let it drip!

Today we read Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss!   Then we decided it would be a great day to get messy!  Check out some of our pictures from our very  messy day!

Another great messy activity was playing and painting with shaving cream!  We added some food colouring into it to learn about colour mixing as well!

March Break

The end result of our first absorption experiment.  We learned that we could move the water from one glass to another using only paper towel!

 We decided to expand the experiment and try with two different colours!  Our Tiny Hoppers are so smart, they correctly guessed what would happen when the blue and the yellow water mixed in the empty cup!

Part one of our JK/SK experiment

Today during our science block we learned about absorption!  We asked the children how we could move water from one glass to another and this is what we have come up with!  Check back tomorrow to see our results and our next absorption experiment!

Chocolates for Chase

Going home with your child (ren) today is an order form and information package about an Easter chocolate fundraiser the Tiny Hoppers is participating in.  

Chase Downs was a beautiful little girl and a member of the Riverside South Tiny Hoppers' Family.  She bravely battle brain cancer for nearly her entire life and taught the whole community about love, bravery and hope.    In her memory a Memorial Fund has been set up to help fund cancer research.  Please help us raise money in memory of this very special little girl.

Grab your copy of the March Scholastic Book Club forms at our front desk!  There are some great deals on Spring books as well as some very interesting science books!  Books always make a great educational present from the Easter Bunny!

We would like to welcome Ms. Kristin to our Tiny Hoppers family.  She is a recent Early Childhood Educator graduate from Algonquin College.  Ms. Kristin will be joining Ms. Crystal and Ms. Lonni in the preschool room!

Scholastic orders are due today!  This month there is a great Science and Math issue that has lots of space and dinosaur items in it!

Snow day fun!

One of the best ways to spend a snow day is by playing Monopoly.  It's even better when everything on the game board is about Ottawa!
