It is our last week for our Make a Wish stars!  Please help us grant a child's wish buy purchasing a star for our wall!

Yesterday our Tiny Hoppers learned all about bee bread!  Bee bread is the pollen that the bees collect in flowers and then feed to their young.  To show the children what it looked like we rolled a cotton ball on the inside of a tulip.  After showing them the experiment we placed it out on our science table for the children to try themselves!

Our classroom caterpillars are growing so fast!  Check back tomorrow to see if they have started the change into the next stage!

What a great activity to work on fine motor skills!  The children were moving ping pongs balls from one bucket to each other using tongs!

This week we are super excited to introduce our latest edition to our classroom.  Over the next few weeks we will be observing caterpillars to see their life cycle!  We can't wait until we get to release all of our beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies! Watch the blog closely for updates

Make a Wish Stars!

Our Make a Wish board is starting to fill up!  We would love to see all of the children's names up in stars, helping make a child's wish come true!  Help us by purchasing a star for only $2!

We are still in search for some large boxes for our transportation theme!  The children will be making box cars during this theme as well as other large vehicles for our dramatic play centre!  If you have have boxes lying around please feel free to bring them in to Tiny Hoppers

May Scholastic Orders!

This is the last month to order from scholastic before the summer!  Don't forget to stock up on some new books for summer reading!  All orders are due by Friday, May 17th!

Parent's Night Out!

Just a reminder that Parent's Night Out is this Friday from 5:30-9:30!  Come see what all the fun is about!

Now that the warm weather is here and we are spending more time at the park it is important that the children have the proper footwear!  To ensure that there are no accidents on the climbers we ask that you send your child with a pair of runners or a pair of sandals that have straps to go around their ankles.  Place avoid sending your child in flip flops or crocs as they do not provide enough grip for climbing and they fall off little feet easily! 

Help us make wishes come true!

This month Tiny Hoppers will be selling make a wish stars for the Make a Wish Foundation.  For a minimum donation of $2 we will place a star with you or your child's name on our ELECT board located in our main entrance!  Help us make a child's wish come true this month!

Our Nursery School and Preschool children would like to remind their Mommies about their special tea party of Friday beginning at 9 am!  We are super excited to share with you all the great songs that we have been working on!

Fantasy photo orders are due tomorrow morning!

Beginning today the doors to our centre will be locked at all times.  This directive has been put into place to ensure the safety of our children at all times.  For JK/SK and preschool parents, please use the club house entrance.  If there is not a teacher at the door please knock and we will let you in.  For nursery school please use the Tiny Hoppers door, it will be open between 8:45am and 9am to allow you easy entrance.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (Shaunna).

Now that the warm weather is here we can spend a lot more time outside!  Please make sure that your child has a bottle of sunscreen in their cubby labeled with there name so that we can apply it in the morning and in the afternoon before our play time!  Please also ensure that a sun hat is sent in to Tiny Hoppers on a daily basis!  It is also important that we have a water bottle for each child that is returned to the centre daily!  We really work up a thirst when we are running at the park!

It is also the time that we need to change the spare clothing in the cubbies!  Please ensure that your child has a change of seasonal appropriate clothing that can be left at Tiny Hoppers in case we need it!

Thank you to everyone who came and supported our open house this past Saturday!  It was a great success and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves.  For those of you who missed it we have some pictures to share!  Hope to see everyone at our next open house in the fall!
